Attendance lets you see who's available for each game and practice. It's off until you turn it on, and you choose how much you want to ask of families.

Turn it on and choose how it works

  1. 1Go to Settings, open Customize Your Dock, and switch Attendance on.
  2. 2Pick one of the two ways it can work. The choice appears as soon as you switch it on, and you can change it whenever you like.

The two ways it can work

  • Everyone's in by default (recommended): every player is counted as going, and families only speak up about the ones they'll miss, with a quick reason for you. Nothing to chase, and events you add later are covered the moment you add them. The least work for forty families.
  • Ask everyone to answer: nobody is counted until they answer, so you can see exactly who hasn't replied. Families are asked about the week ahead rather than the whole season, and TeamDock can remind the ones who haven't.

For families

Answer wherever you happen to be. Every game and practice carries In, Maybe and Out buttons on the schedule, in the calendar's day panel and in the event's own chat, and tapping one is the whole job: there is no Save button and nothing to confirm. Your answer shows on the row afterwards, so you can see at a glance what you have already dealt with.

You are only ever asked about the week in front of you. A season's fixtures usually land in one go, and nobody can say in October whether they can make a game in March, so your dashboard shows the next few days with their own buttons and a single "going to all of these" for the lot. Everything further out stays available on Your availability, linked from the top of the Schedule, for anyone who wants to clear a tournament weekend early. It is never counted against you and nobody is chased about it.

That screen keeps a running count and has a button that marks you down for whatever you haven't answered. It never changes an answer you already gave, including for a sibling on the same event.

  • Out and Maybe can carry a short reason for the coach. It's optional, it comes after the answer, and it saves as you type.
  • A parent with more than one child on the team gets a set of buttons per child, each named.

For coaches

  • Open any event's Attendance to see the roster with going / maybe / out counts and every reason.
  • You can set a status for any player yourself.
  • Turn tracking off for a one-off event, like a social, right from that event.
